I have always been a sucker for catchy, hook-laden guitar
pop. From the days of the Byrds, through the Eagles, R.E.M. and too many other
bands to list, I tapped my feet and sang along. The Gin Blossoms were another
band that raised that banner for a brief but shining time in the early 90’s.
The Blossoms marinated their bleak and heavily sarcastic lyrics in a power pop
sautee seasoned with killer hooks. This was their breakthrough song, HEY,
JEALOUSY.
"Music was my first love. It will be my last. To live without my music would be impossible to do for in this world of troubles my music pulls me through" - John Miles, 1976
