#355 – SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND – Pink Floyd - 1/25/2020

On January 25, 1905, at the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa, a 3,106-carat diamond (weight 1.33 pounds) became the largest diamond ever found.

What better musical accompaniment to this useless factoid than SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND; Floyd’s love song to their friend and founding member Syd Barrett. Music fans should seek out the Classic Album show that recalls the recording of this LP, my favorite of all of Pink Floyd’s releases.
