Happy 60th birthday, Paul Hewson. I’d still like
one more chance to see you guys live! I missed out on the “Under a Blood Red
Sky” Red Rocks show – I had left Colorado
10 days prior. I missed out on seeing you at Denver ’s
Rainbow Music Hall with my buddy J.P., two years
before that. I’d like one more try. I hear your band is pretty good.
"Music was my first love. It will be my last. To live without my music would be impossible to do for in this world of troubles my music pulls me through" - John Miles, 1976

#1451 – SUNDAY, BLOODY SUNDAY – U2 – 1/30/2020
January 30th marks the anniversary of Bloody
Sunday which was one of the most significant events in Northern Ireland ’s
troubled history. 13 civilians were killed by forces of the state, in full view
of the public and the press.
I am not Irish. Nor am I taking sides. I only pose this
question: If the strife and hatred in one of the world’s longest and most
bitter factional disputes finally has lessened, then I cannot believe peace
elsewhere in our troubled world cannot mirror the success in Northern Ireland .

#78 – MYSTERIOUS WAYS – 12/16/2019
Adam Clayton & Larry Mullen Jr.'s rhythm section stand
out on this one. The funkiest 4 pasty white guys from Ireland could
ever get, until the Pop album a few years later but Sue loves this song so:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE! Love you.
If there are still any U2 aficionados out there and you’d
like to see an excellent documentary about the creation of the “Achtung Baby”
release, check out 2011’s “From the Sky Down”. Great stuff.
