JOY OF MY LIFE – John Fogerty

#184 – JOY OF MY LIFE – 12/12/2019
The 12th of December is always an emotional day for me. My Dad passed away on a Monday morning in 1977. 15 years later on a snowy Saturday afternoon in Lakewood, CO Susan & I were married.

I was a petrified, incoherent mess on the day of the ceremony. The entire guest list was comprised of: our friends (Linda Boyd & Dan Hunter) who stood up for us as our witnesses, the Justice of the Peace and our cat, Butterscotch. That’s about all my nerves could take. I was sweating like a sponge. I was shaking with nerves. But I made it through the ceremony. Our journey as a family started on that day. We have been blessed with too many memories to list. Suffice it to say, those memories are worth more to me than all the treasure in the world, Or as John so eloquently puts it:

“Some may have their riches / some may have their worldly fame.
Long as I have you I treasure each and every day
Just take me by the hand – I am the luckiest maa alive.
Did I tell you baby, you are the Joy of My Life.”

Thanks for agreeing to let me walk beside you on this journey, sweetie. The adventure never ends……so lets get onto the next chapter. I love you, Jennifer.
