#882 – SIX FEET OF SNOW – Little Feat - 2/8/2020

Once again, the local weather forecasters got it wrong. We didn’t get six FEET of snow, but we got about ten inches easy in Morrison when the forecast was calling for three to six.

This song is found on the last Little Feat studio LP with original leader and founder, the late Lowell George: “Down on the Farm”. This song was written and sung by the second guitarist and subsequent front man for the Feats in the wake of Lowell’s passing, Paul Barrere, who we also lost in October of last year. The musical focus of the band began to change with the release of “Down on the Farm” to more Americana/standard rock vibe from Lowell’s more blues centric slide driven tunes. One of the best bands I have been lucky enough to hear live.
