Happy birthday, brother. 73 years ago today you blessed our
world with your light and life, your wonderful smile, your kind and gentle
heart. Every time I think of your sons & daughters I see pieces you in each
of their lives. I see the reflection of you and your wonderful wife Bev’s
amazing love for them reflecting back in their lives and the lives of their
children. They are your legacy of love. You both should be proud. I am proud to
be their uncle, but I am even prouder to be their friend.
Whenever I hear this song I can’t help but think of your
room upstairs at the old house: your models, records, hot rod magazines.
Everything was neat and in its place. Everything, that is, except for the dark
blue splotch of paint I sprayed on your light blue wall when I tried to cover
up the yellow paint had I sprayed there earlier. These memories are still part
of me even after all these years. Several families have inhabited that house
after our family did, but that room will always be YOUR room.
Thanks for being the best big brother EVER. I miss you,
Norm. I love you always.
