#2428 – MISS AMERICA – David Byrne – 2/2/2020

When those of us that are a certain age are asked to recall the Miss America Pageant we will immediately think of its longtime host (1955 – 1979) Bertram Jacobson a/k/a Bert Parks. Parks died at age 77 on this day in 1992.

Being a long time Talking Heads fan, I sort of lost track of David Byrne after the Heads broke up in 1991. The arresting video for this tune caught my attention though. Byrne aims his cleaver, caustic gaze on American voyeurism and greed in the late 20^th Century. It is just as relevant now (if not more so) than it was then.
