Yesterday marked the 58th anniversary of John
Glenn orbiting the Earth.
Harry Nilsson was, by all accounts, quite an odd chap. For
example, he was one of the very few popular musical artists to have had a
successful without ever touring or performing live. He always had a bizarre
lyrical outlook. Known for his keen songwriting skill, it is ironic his 2 best
remembered singles were covers: EVERYBODY’S TALKIN’ & WITHOUT YOU. This
song was the lead single from “Son of Schmilsson”, the follow-up to his hugely
successful LP “Nilsson Schmilsson”.
