#371 – THE HARDER THEY COME – Jimmy Cliff - 6/7/2020

In an event that would have dramatic repercussions for the
people of India, Mohandas K.
Gandhi, a young Indian lawyer working in South Africa, refused to comply
with racial segregation rules on a South African train. Known as Mahatma, or
“the great soul,” Gandhi’s persuasive methods of civil disobedience influenced
leaders of civil rights movements around the world for years to come.

“Well the oppressors are trying to keep me down trying to
drive me underground
And they think that they have got the battle won I say
forgive them Lord they know not what they've done…”

1972
