Joe does a great job covering Cab Calloway. This album came
out in 1981 as a tribute to Louis Jordan, Calloway & other swing and blues
pioneers. To my ear these pasty faced Brits to a great job (and seem to having
a great time, too) swingin’ & jivin’. This album didn’t make much hay back
in the day but it is a release that has remained a go to for me. It followed up
Joe’s sharp-edged “Beat Crazy “ LP and set the stage for his best selling
release: “Night & Day” the next year.
