#2402 – ASLEEP IN THE DESERT – 10/21/2019
This tune has been a favorite since I first heard it
included on their 5th LP “Tejas”, released in 1976. The band had just started
to break nationally so a lot was riding on this release. There are still plenty
of power trio boogie throughout, but the inclusion of this hauntingly beautiful
instrumental shows just how far Frank, Dusty & Billy can reach and still
get the job done. This tune closed the album.
