#176 – NICK OF TIME – Bonnie Raitt - 2/29/2020

I was supposed to attend a wedding taking place today in Savannah, GA. It is the wedding of the eldest daughter of one of my life long best friends. I was really looking forward to being there; to see my dear friend walk his daughter down the aisle, laugh and hug old friends, tell stories from back in the day, look forward in happiness with the young couple and have a great party. But with the move and all, it turns out I won’t be able to go.

In my stead I would like to offer the special sentiment I find in this song: NICK OF TIME. It seems appropriate to me for such an occasion. It is not a party song. It isn’t an uptempo dance number. It isn’t a super mushy love song. For my money though, it IS a song about seizing the day and taking the road in search of happiness with someone else. It is about being prescient enough to reach out and touch your partner’s hand and walk down the road together.
