#1073 – RUNNING ON FAITH – Eric Clapton - 4/19/2020

The very 1st Boston Marathon was held on this day in 1897. The Boston Marathon was originally held on Patriot’s Day, April 19, a regional holiday that commemorates the beginning of the Revolutionary War. In 1969, Patriots Day was officially moved to the third Monday in April and the race has been held on that Monday ever since.

Which brings me to this tune from “Journeyman” released in 1989. For my money it is one of EC’s best solo albums. Can’t think of a better metaphor for the times in which we find ourselves than this couplet from this tune: “Then we'd go running on faith. All of our dreams would come true and our world will be right when love comes over me and you….”

Stay safe and well all.
