The original UK release of the Who’s debut LP “The Who Sings My Generation” was released on this day in 1965.

It’s all here. The chaos: Townshend smashing his guitar. Roger’s arrogant stuttering. Keith’s controlled mayhem on his kit. Entwistle’s thundering bass line.

If you listen closely as Pete is smashing his guitar you can hear John referencing the bass line from the Blue’s Magoos current hit at the time: (YOU AIN’T GOT) NOTHIN’ YET. Rock at its primal roots.
