#488 – 30,000 POUNDS OF BANANAS – Harry Chapin - 2/14/2020

“It sure musta been somthin’….”

I have 2 reasons for liking this song so much. I saw the late Harry Chapin perform this song in Hartford many, many years ago. As exhausted as he was after the show, Harry was gracious enough to autograph the show programs of my date & myself.

The second reason was the reference to Scranton, PA. My friend Noreen Philbin was attending Marywood University and I went down there to visit her on a couple of occasions. Noreen was (and is) a great friend who was a blast to be around. I liked her friends, the school and the town. I don’t know if it is a false memory or not, but it seems the road to the school lead down a huge hill which I think of every time I hear this song.
