We celebrate the legacy of my hero, Dr Martin Luther King on
this day. I suppose I could select PRIDE (In the Name of Love) which would be
appropriate. Instead I choose this song which I have always loved – even before
I understood its message.
Peace & Love – some would say just a slogan that defined
the Sixties. I try to look past the stereotype and look at the words
themselves. Webster’s definitions of peace & love are:
PEACE: harmony in personal relations
LOVE: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or
personal ties
What better ways to recall and honor Dr. King than to act
out these words on this day.
The Rascals were: Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Gene
Cornish & Dino Danelli. For me, this tune epitomizes the spiritualism and
power of rock & roll at its best;
