There’s nothin’ like lazin’ on a SUNNY AFTERNOON with a
bottle of ice cold NEW Coke, the unofficial name for the reformulation of
Coca-Cola introduced on this day in April ‘85 by the Coca-Cola Company. An
unmitigated marketing disaster ranking right up there with the Edsel, Sony
Betamax and Peloton ads the old formula soft drink was re-introduced to the
market in 3 months.
This Kinks Klassic comes from their “Face to Face” album,
whose amazing studio production experimentations predated the Beatles &
Stones by a year. An amazing LP from the classic rock canon that few people
know; their then record label, Pye Records criminally mis-managed their
releases.
