I still remember where I was when I first heard this song in
’72. We were driving up the New Jersey Turnpike from one of our summer trips in
our Shasta Motorhome. Dad (in true Clark W. Griswold tradition) was piloting
and I was in the loft above the cab listening to Casey Kasem’s weekly countdown
of America ’s
Top Forty. I was hooked the minute I heard to Mouth Harp intro. I knew The Who
from their earlier Top 40 hit BEHIND BLUE EYES and really started to become fan
at this time. Pete, Roger, Keith & John pretty much became my go-to band,
blending power, lunacy, incredible musicianship and poetry all in place. JOIN
TOGTHER was written for the now-fabled Lifehouse project, but only was released
as a single until became available on compilations.
"Music was my first love. It will be my last. To live without my music would be impossible to do for in this world of troubles my music pulls me through" - John Miles, 1976
